Today we'll be doing things a bit differently, and we will be going over how you can use ChatGPT to refine a series of itemized instructions to create a frame-by-frame story narrative for a graphic novel.

We found this fascinating demonstration over at Scott Scowcroft's Evernote page on December 11, 2022:

1. Provide ChatGPT with a very detailed prompt that lays out the exact plot requirements of the story. In his prompt, Scott asked ChatGPT to "write the text or narrative" for a "graphic novel" with the plot of "an experienced marketer who goes on a hero's quest to discover a new different way of connecting with individual people using AI and NLP" He includes the condition that the marketer, Mark, must be "challenged by, and overcome, at least one obstacle or hindrance." He leaves the identification of that challenge and the explanation of why it is important to the software with no other specific instruction. Scott also directed ChatGPT to summarize any lessons Mark had learned throughout his journey at the end of the novel and limits the novel's length to no more than five pages, with no more than six frames per page. Scott also directs ChatGPT to make the narrative visually interesting because he will later require ChatGPT to create prompts for AI-generated images to go with the story.

2. In the resulting narrative generated by ChatGPT, Scott directs the software to describe exactly what the "unique combination of AI and NLP" it mentioned in its narrative as a means for Mark to revolutionize marketing actually is, as well as how it is implemented.

3. Scott then asks ChatGPT to create an appendix that lists out, step by step, how to create and implement these personalized marketing messages, followed by a real-world example of how these steps would be executed.

4. The story was then rewritten to create the exact text to be used per frame of the graphic novel.
